Less than an hour's flight from Montreal, located in the centre of the Eastern Townships, nestled in the heart of the Appalachian mountains, the Sherbrooke Airport. welcomes you!



Description of the Airport

Under the classification system used by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Transport Canada, the Sherbrooke Airport has the designation "CYSC " (registered aerodrome). The Sherbrooke Airport site now features:

  • Two-level air terminal with a small a pilots' lounge (Building A)
  • Paved parking lot with space for approximately 80 vehicles
  • Commercial hangar (Building B)
  • Private hangars for aircraft storage
  • Aircraft taxiways
  • Asphalt runway, identified as numbers "13-31" 5,900 feet long by 150 feet wide
  • Several electronic instruments and visual aids for aerial navigation
  • Automated meteorological observation station

    The Sherbrooke Airport is accessible by the following types of aircraft:
    • Hercules CC-130
    • Challenger
    • Boeing 737

    In a pinch, it can also handle the following:
    • Airbus 320
    • Boeing 757

    By road, the Sherbrooke Airport is approximately 20 minutes from downtown (via Road 112). By air, it is in the Ontario/Maritimes/New England corridors.
    How to get there by car from either Autoroute 55 or Autoroute 10:
  • From Autoroute 55 or Autoroute 10, take Exit 143 for Fleurimont, East-Angus, and Lac Mégantic (Autoroute 610 East).
  • At the end of Autoroute 610 East (nearly 10 km), is the intersection with Road 112.
  • Turn left onto Road 112 East. After approximately ten kilometres (after having passed through Ascot Corner) you will see a sign indicating "Aéroport de Sherbooke"
  • Take the next right onto "chemin de l'Aéroport". At the end of this road, you will find the Sherbrooke Airport (approximately 3 km further along).

  • Aircraft refuelling (100 LL and A-1 Jet)
  • Heated hangar rental ­ 7,605 sq. ft. of storage space available
  • Rental of short-term and long-term outdoor parking
  • Battery boosting (GPU)
  • De-icing
  • UNICOM advisory station.

    UNICOM can make arrangements for car rentals and lodging if requested.

    These specialized pilot services are provided by OPSIS, under licence from the Ville de Sherbrooke.

    Customs Services

    As an "entry airport for aircraft carrying up to 30 passengers" (AE/30 status), the Sherbrooke Airport offers customs services. You must give Canada Border Services Agency two hours advance notice.

    These services are offered during Canada Border Services Agency office hours, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays only (except on holidays).

    The Sherbrooke Airport is also covered by the CANPASS-AIR program.

    Flying Schools

    ThePaquin Aviation flying school has two Cessna 172s to provide practical training for its students. These aircraft can also be chartered for aerial photography, etc.

    News

    At the beginning of every summer, the Sherbrooke Airport hostsLes Faucheurs de marguerites, one of Eastern Canada's largest fly-ins for pilots, and recreational aviation and amateur aircraft building enthusiasts. Activities include: a flea market, trade show, airplane exhibits, and lecture series. Everyone is welcome.
